Muriel Barclay

From her studio in Glasgow’s leafy West End Muriel Barclay produces her joyful canvases. Inspired by the works of Degas, Matisse and Manet as well as her fellow countrymen the Glasgow Boys and the Scottish Colourists, she has become a highly sought after figurative painter of some repute.

Her fascination with the elegance and complexity of the human form is evident in her large paintings of dancers and couples entwined and trusting in each other for support.
