Helen Fay studied printmaking at Sunderland University before completing her Master of Arts at The Royal College of Art in London. Working exclusively in etching she has become a master of the technique, concerning herself with the drama of light and shade on her subjects.

Of her work she says:

“I find printmaking, especially etching to be the media I can best translate my drawing into a solid and dramatic image”

“My work combines my two main interests, drawing and animals. Both the activity of drawing and the subject I study are a source of never ending fascination and have been for as long as I can remember”
