Fiona Watson
Fiona Watson was born in Newfoundland, Canada and studied Biological Sciences at Leicester University. It was only later whilst living in Glasgow and having spent several years working for various medical journals that she discovered printmaking. Etching steel and copper plates with acid turned out to be the perfect blend of science and art, and her background in Biology can be seen in her subject matter where she works with the patterns, forms and colours of nature. As a foil to the physical, hands on technique of etching she has also become a formidable exponent of digital printmaking.
